A collision that occurred on Wednesday evening in Mesa resulted in the deaths of three teenagers and injured another. Mesa police say they received many calls regarding a collision around the time 9 p.m. near the intersection of Ellsworth and Guadalupe roads. When the officers arrived, they discovered a single vehicle had been involved in the incident and that four teenagers were locked inside.
According to the findings of the preliminary inquiry, the vehicle was traveling eastward on Guadalupe when the driver lost control of it. It collided with the curb and continued into the landscaping until colliding with a boulder. The car finally came to a halt after flipping over and colliding with a light pole after first failing to stop.
There were four young women inside the vehicle who ranged in age from 14 to 17 years old. At the scene of the accident, both the driver and the front passenger were pronounced deceased. The two passengers located in the trunk were taken to the hospital as quickly as possible. The hospital was unfortunately where the end came for one of the two girls. The fourth person, a girl aged 14, is still being treated at a hospital after being injured.
It is speculated that a 16-year-old was at the wheel. According to the police, none of the girls were related and all of them were friends. The police believe that both the weather and the rate of speed played a part in the fatal collision. There is currently no information available regarding the victims.
