On Barrington Street in Rochester, on Monday, March 20, 2023, Rochester police officers and Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies shot and killed a man. Brendon Burns, 35, was reportedly seen driving a car that may have been involved in two earlier shootings on Monday morning, and when challenged by police at around 1:00 p.m., he allegedly pulled out a “hunting-style” knife. At that moment, according to investigators, Burns was shot numerous times by deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff’s office and Rochester police officers.
