Jurupa Valley Fontana fire today – The officials responded to the scene of massive fire burning in Jurupa Valley, Fontana. There are around 20 acres worth of light, flammable fuels that are burning at a high rate of pace, and firefighters have arrived on the scene. Together with the San Bernardino County Fire Department, CAL FIRE and the Riverside County Fire Department are operating under unified leadership.
Approximately 20 acres have been consumed by the fire that is currently raging close to the south of Fontana and to the north of Sunnyslope. There has been no word about any evacuations. Sierra Avenue is closed in both directions from Jurupa Avenue to Armstrong Street in Riverside County and east of Sierra Avenue as a result of a brush fire that has broken out in the Jurupa Hills of Fontana.
There have been some brief evacuations at this time, and further updates will be provided if they become necessary. Please make every effort to avoid the area.
