Omaha Arrests – Police in Omaha have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the July 1 robbery at Ground Floor Guitar. On Friday, Jorge Lopez was arrested on five counts of robbery. According to Omaha police, a second suspect is still at loose. Two suspects, one armed with a dark-colored revolver, entered the guitar store near S 40th and Farnam streets at 3:45 p.m. on July 1 and robbed the store and two customers, according to authorities. According to investigators, one suspect was a Hispanic male between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall with a stocky frame. He was dressed in a dark sweater, dark slacks or jeans, and was armed with a dark revolver.
The second suspect was possibly a white male between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall and around 200 pounds in weight. He covered his face with a white bandana while wearing a dark hoodie. On Friday, the store was robbed by two men while owner John Svatos was inside with customers. The proprietor alleges that a suspect posed as a customer before drawing a firearm at the counter. Seven clients have filed police reports with the Omaha police department. Fenders, Gibsons, and an approximately $3,500 Gretsch guitar are among the confirmed missing items.
The probe is still active.
