Jordan Ruiz, a night employee of Walmart in Hobbs, New Mexico passed away after he was shot multiple times following a robbery at the store parking lot. The incident happened at the parking lot of the Walmart store located at 3800 N Lovington Hwy, Hobbs, NM. Multiple law enforcement agencies were dispatched to the scene after the young employee and Hobbs High School graduate were shot as he was out on a 2 a.m. break.
Following the shooting death, the Hobbs Walmart has announced that the store will be closed for today. “Walmart Hobbs – Walmart Hobbs will be closed today and will reopen tomorrow. We apologize for the inconvenience.” According to reports, about fifteen police cars responded to the store after receiving reports of a subject shot at the parking area.
According to claims, an unidentified number of suspects approached the employee who was on break at the time. The unidentified suspects attempted to rob Jordan Ruiz. Ruiz attempted to escape from the subject and was shot multiple times. He was transported to the Covenant Hobbs Hospital where he died, reports claim. Law enforcement agencies remained at the scene this morning where the parking area has been taped out. Hobbs Police Department is investigating the incident. No further details were immediately released by the investigating officials.
