On the evening of Thursday, August 31st, 2023, at approximately 8:05 p.m., law enforcement received notification of a collision at the intersection of Taunton Road and Arborwood Drive. The collision involved a motorcycle and claimed the life of a 36-year-old man from Clarington. Jordan Haber was involved in the accident according to speculations but no official confirmation was made.

According to the Durham Regional Police, a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze traveling east on Taunton Road attempted to make a left turn onto Arborwood Drive. Simultaneously, a 2020 Honda motorcycle was traveling west on Taunton Road and collided with the Chevrolet. The impact resulted in critical injuries to the motorcyclist.
Despite the valiant efforts of first responders to save his life, the 36-year-old motorcyclist tragically succumbed to his injuries after being swiftly transported to a local hospital, as detailed in a police news release. The occupants of the Chevrolet, including the driver and a passenger, sustained minor injuries and were also transported to the hospital for treatment. Consequently, the affected roadway remained closed for several hours. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.

An incident involving two vehicles that occurred on Wednesday morning, August 16, 2023, in Oshawa resulted in the hospitalization of one individual.
