Jonathan Vanderzaag Death – A man has died after a workplace incident on a farm in Alliston. The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Jonathan Vanderzaag who worked as a farmer at P&K Vanderzaag Farms. According to reports, Jonathan Vanderzaag passed away from injuries sustained from the Vanderzaag farm incident. He had a funny and unique personality and was never afraid to show it and his friends loved that about him.
How did the incident happen?
The incident happened on March 31 at approximately 11:30 a.m. at the farm located on County Road 15, between the 5th Sideroad and County Road 5. Police say that on Friday afternoon, they were called to P&K Vander Zaag Farms to help a man who was stuck in a piece of machinery. Provincial police say that he was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead there. Now, the Ministry of Labour is looking into what happened.
No further information was mentioned. The details surrounding the accident were not stated. “Our sincere condolences to their family, friends and coworkers,” noted the statement from ministry spokesperson Anu Dhar. “As the investigation is ongoing, the ministry cannot comment further at this time.”
Who was Jonathan Vanderzaag?
Jonathan Vanderzaag graduated from Banting Memorial High School. After high school, he went on to study at Western University where he earned his Bachelor of Engineering with a professional Internship, in Mechanical Engineering. He was the former popcorn maker at Circle Theatre.

Nottawasaga OPP says that a crash on Highway 89 on Saturday killed one person and sent five others to the hospital. At about 10 a.m., police and emergency workers went to the scene of a crash between two cars west of Veteran’s Drive. A 70-year-old woman from Alliston who was a passenger in one of the cars was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car and a child who was riding in the back were taken to a hospital in the Toronto area with injuries that could kill them.
Officers say that the driver of the other car and two children were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. At the time of the crash, police say no one else was hurt. OPP says that the cause is still being looked into. Several hours were lost because a road was closed.
