It reads: “The Ira Township Fire Department regrets to announce the off duty passing of Active Firefighter/EMT Jonathan Falke. Firefighter Falke joined the department in August 2019 and had also served in other departments in the local area. Please keep the Falke family in your prayers at this time.”
Who was Jonathan Falke?
Jonathan Falke was an active member of the Ira Township Fire Department. He was a native of Algonac, Michigan where he grew up. He attended Algonac High School. He joined the Ira Fire Department in August 2019 after serving in other departments in the local area. St Clair County Firefighters Association paid their respect to Jonathan following the news of his tragic death.
By the age of 18, he had earned his fire 1&2, EMT, and dive tender certifications. He briefly switched to Detroit EMS before quitting to pursue a career in trucking. Jon was taking the exam to become a fireman in Detroit again. Involved with the Ira Township Fire Department, Jon was. He started his career as a cadet with Clay Fire department. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
