Jonathan Buchan Shooting Investigation – An off-duty Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputy has passed away from an apparent suicide. According to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station,33-year-old Deputy Jonathan Buchan died after he shot himself in the head at the Mabel’s Roadhouse on the 26300 block of Bouquet Canyon Road, north of Valencia Boulevard. According to the department, According to the department, deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a local bar, located on the 26000 block of Bouquet Canyon Road in the city of Valencia, regarding a person with a gun/gunshot victim call.
Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male suffering from a self-inflicted gun
shot wound to his head. Paramedics responded to the location and the male was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The male was identified as 33-year-old, Deputy Jonathan Buchan. Deputy Buchan was a 3 and ½ -year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Deputy Buchan was off-duty at the time of this incident. The investigation is being handled by investigators from the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau.

Firefighters and sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and found one person with a gunshot wound. According to law enforcement agencies, there have been no records of him battling any known1 illness. Deputies are continuing to conduct their investigation at this time.
