Jon Albrecht, a veteran teacher and coach at Norwalk High School, passed away recently. On Monday, February 28, 2022 Norwalk High Principal Reginald Roberts sent an email to the whole school community informing them of Albrecht’s death. The news of his demise did not go down well with the school as he was a great part of the school.
“Mr. Albrecht was a valued member of our physical education and health department, well-known to a multitude of students, parents, and families for his many years of service to Norwalk Public Schools. At NHS, Mr. Albrecht had been a coach of several athletic teams as well as our dean at one time,” Roberts recalled.
“A mentor, a friend, a trusted colleague, a compassionate teacher, and a parent of NHS graduates, Mr. Albrecht gave so much to our community, for which we are truly grateful,” Roberts said. “Please keep the Albrecht family and the NHS community in your thoughts and prayers.”
According to state medical examiner he died on Thursday, February 24, 2022 as a result of COVID-19 problems. COVID-19 keeps claiming lives everyday despite the presence of the vaccine, which is meant to fight against the virus.
The family of Albrecht are in disarray, and need your prayers and support as it stands. His obituary will be released in a later date.
