Even though there is no way to bring back Deacon Johnny Hollman, the attorney for his family has stated that the large settlement from Atlanta is significant; nonetheless, their primary concern is that criminal charges be made in connection with the case.

According to the police, the 62-year-old individual refused to sign the ticket when an Atlanta police officer returned to the scene and attempted to issue a citation. The individual also became argumentative and upset, and he asked for a supervisor. Officer Kiran Kimbrough utilized his Taser, and Hollman finally passed away at the hospital as a result of the incident.
“It represented an acknowledgment that Deacon Hollman, contrary to initial reports, was not the architect of his own death, and it also recognized the city’s responsibility for his death,” Spence explained to reporters.
“The amount was significant because it reflected the dimension of the harm that this officer’s actions caused,” Spence explained to reporters.
Kimbrough, an officer with the Atlanta Police Department, was terminated.
