John was born into the family of the late John K. Lanctot and Jane Brew Lanctot Colwell on March 9, 1958 in Rochester. He owned and operated two local restaurants; Lance’s Port & Pub and Soup-Herb Sproutz. He was also active and was well recognized in the Little Beaver Lions Club. He showed genuine love to every person he met.
He was a serious business man known to be the embodiment of work hard and play hard. An avid golfer; loving to golf with his ‘bestest’ friends any chance he had. He enjoyed being outside in the sun, sitting by his pool with the music playing. He was fondly called ‘Pops’ by his children and called ‘PopPop’ by his grandchildren, whom he loved more than anything in this world.
