We used to joke that we spent more time together than with our wives and kids. I’m still shocked and deeply hurt at his sudden passing Monday night. Though I left Channel 9 last fall, I got to see him a few weeks ago and catch up. John was not only a dependable, talented news photographer, he was a special man.
John Evans lived out his faith in Jesus Christ daily. In the encouraging words he spoke to others, the help he’d offer someone broken down on the side of the road, or the money he’d hand to people in need. It’s one thing to just say that someone would give you the shirt off his back, it’s another to actually do it.”
