John Baker Death, The Happy Hills Resort owner Has Passed Away From cancer: John Baker passed away. He lived in the Ontario town of Zorra. Baker owned the Happy Hills Resort family campsite, which is located in the heart of South Western Ontario. John, who had been battling illness since 2021, passed away gently and painlessly at home on May 14, 2024, in the afternoon, surrounded by his loved ones. When he passed away, he was sixty years old. He was loved and cherished by his loving wife Elaine Baker, with whom he shared an amazing 35 years of marriage.
Three amazing children—Matthew, Jacqueline, and Curtis—have been brought forth by their united parenting efforts. One of John’s favourite things in life was being a father, and his impact on his children’s lives will endure. In addition, he was the happy “grandfather” of three very devoted grand puppies. Numerous nieces and nephews, as well as friends and family who will always cherish his memory—especially his siblings Jane Terhaerdt and Mark Baker—were left behind by John. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and felt liberated when he was outside in the open air. Riding his bicycle, he avidly explored the roads and paths he came across.
His passion for discovery didn’t stop there. John relished the isolation and excitement of wintertime activities such as snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. John was eager to take advantage of the park’s facilities as well as tour the neighbourhood and discover its history. He was a huge fan of camping. He also like the competition and camaraderie that pickleball offered, so he played it with great enthusiasm. John loved nothing more than to spend time with his friends and family.
He was the life of the party, whether it was a little gathering, a holiday, or a family reunion. He was the centre of attention. Happy Hills was the focus of John’s life and his one and only obsession. When John was eight years old in 1971, his parents, John and Ena, began the journey that would eventually come to be known as Happy Hills in Embro, Ontario. Since then, John has not missed a day in which he has participated in some kind of park activity. He treasured the time he could spend at the campsite, mingling with other campers, working out issues, and getting ready for newcomers.
John was always happy to help out, no matter how little the problem. John spent his entire life being involved in his environment. Everyone he met was inspired by his words to approach each day with joy and purpose. His absence will be deeply felt by everyone who knew him, since his presence provided comfort and steadiness to those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
