Joe Trotti Death – Joe Trotti, president of McGill and Partners and head of its aviation and aerospace division, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023. He died at the age of 62 after battling illness. On Thursday, the news of Joe’s death was made known “with overwhelming sadness” by McGill and Partners. He was born on February 5, 1960 to the late Jenny, and father, Pat. Joe was a native of the area and had spent his entire life in the Tarrytowns.

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, he was a member of the Tarrytown Dad’s Club and played Little League baseball under the direction of his father, Pat, who was the team’s coach. Joe received his education in the public schools of the Tarrytowns, including John Paulding, Morse School, and Washington Irving. Joe was a much-loved teammate on the football and lacrosse teams at Sleepy Hollow high school, and he kept those friendships for the remainder of his life.
Joe also played lacrosse at Sleepy Hollow. Joe had a big and stocky build, and he played the position of center for the Headless Horsemen’s offensive line. On defense, he was a linebacker who was not afraid to get his hands dirty. In addition, Joe was a member of the Sleepy Hollow lacrosse team, where he played both defense and midfield. Joe was always upbeat and eager to have a good time with his classmates.

Joe Trotti is now serving as the President of McGill Global Risk Solutions in addition to his role as the Global Head of Aviation and Aerospace. Before he started working for McGill and Partners, he worked for JLT in London as the Global Specialty Practice Head for Aerospace and High Potential Specialties. In this role, he oversaw the company’s global operations in these two fields. Previously, he worked for AIG as the Head of Property and Special Risks, where he was responsible for the company’s business in the areas of Property, Engineered Risk, Construction, Marine, Aerospace, Trade Credit, Surety, Political Risk, Portfolio Solution, and Lexington London.
Joe has more than 34 years of experience working in the insurance industry, servicing firms that are involved in both brokerage and underwriting. His career encompasses the entirety of the industry. Joe has been a successful leader of companies in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Under his direction, these companies have achieved results that have led the industry and their respective segments.
