Joseph Celinski Death – On Saturday afternoon, a collision involving two cars that occurred in front of a well-known pub and restaurant in Hamilton resulted in the death 35-year-old Joseph J. Celinski of Hamilton. Steven D. Brokowsky, 39, of Hamilton, was driving a 2019 Honda Accord sedan when he allegedly left Killarney’s Publick House on Whitehorse-Mercerville Road at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
Joseph J. Celinski was driving a 2015 Land Rover SUV when his vehicle collided with another vehicle while heading in the same direction on Whitehorse Mercerville Road. The collision occurred as Joseph’s car was turning northbound (left) onto the busy route. According to the police, the “side-swipe” collision caused Celinski’s Land Rover to leave the roadway, hit a telephone pole, and then come to a stop before coming to a complete stop.
The vehicle driven by Brokowsky came to a controlled stop on the roadway, and the vehicle driven by Celinski returned to the roadway and came to a halt there as well. At the scene of the accident, it was determined that Celinski had passed away. In order to receive treatment and examination, Mr. Brokowsky was taken by ambulance to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton.
At the scene of the accident, members of the Hamilton Township Fire Division and Emergency Medical Services gave assistance. Thursday, a woman was transported to the hospital after a multi-vehicle collision on Hamilton Mountain resulted in a taxi flipping onto its roof. Just before 4 p.m., police were dispatched to the scene of the collision near Garth Street and Fennell Avenue West. According to Constable Indy Bharaj, a taxi was traveling northbound on Garth when a vehicle in front of it abruptly changed lanes, causing a collision that threw the taxi over a sidewalk and onto its roof. He added that the impact of the collision caused a third vehicle to be struck.
A senior passenger in the taxi was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, according to Bharaj. No one else was injured. As detectives investigated the collision, police closed the northbound lanes of Garth between Fennell and Bendamere avenues for a short time. To tow the taxi, they also closed the southbound lanes of Garth between Fennell and Denlow Avenue.
