Jody Moyt Cause Of Death, Obituary Unavailable Yet – A prominent chef was killed in an apparent road rage incident, and the Midtown community is mourning his death.
Jody Moyt, Executive Chef at Lafayette’s Music Room, was stabbed to death Sunday night, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), and many who worked with him described the stabbing as a senseless act of violence.
According to yahoo.com, When FOX13 went to Lafayette’s Music Room, a generally vibrant, popular restaurant in Midtown, on Tuesday morning, there was a palpable sense of loss.
Brush claimed Moyt ran him off the road on Sam Cooper and Hollywood around 10:45 p.m. Sunday, according to court filings. Brush stated that Moyt had threatened him.
Brush then admitted stabbing Moyt, according to the affidavit. At a hospital, the chef passed away. Brush was charged with second-degree murder and appeared in court on Tuesday. A $1 million bond has been set for him.
After learning of Moyt’s death, Lafayette’s Music Room closed early Monday. Staff members told FOX13 that they are back to normal business hours, but that they will likely close to allow employees to attend Moyt’s funeral.
