Albert Lineses III wrote on Facebook; “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I announce my dad, Jimmy Vigil, the best man I’ve ever known, passed away this morning at 7:20 am. My Papa Jim entered our lives when I was 14 years old, and I can say undoubtedly that he is the best thing to ever happen to my mom and me. No single mother in the world could ever pray to meet a better man than Jim. He is the Gold Standard of what a husband and stepfather can be to a young man and his mom. If it wasn’t for Jim, I don’t know where I’d be today. He taught me patience and unconditional love, among many lessons. Not just with words, but by his example. He was a great father, a great husband, and a great man. A veteran of the Vietnam War. A board member of Chicanos Por La Casa. A community leader. An avid golfer. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, tio , friend and so much more to so many.”
