Jimmy Hayes, an NHL player for four teams over his career, died suddenly on Monday. When first responders got to his Milton, Massachusetts, home, they declared him dead on the spot. Although the reason of death is unknown, it is not thought to be suspicious. Hayes is survived by his two young kids, Beau and Mac, and his wife, Kristen. In addition, he leaves behind four siblings: Kevin, who is a player with the Philadelphia Flyers, Jennifer, Eileen, and Justine.
Hayes’s versatility and dedication were noteworthy throughout his professional hockey career. He participated in 334 NHL games for his home team, the Boston Bruins, the Chicago Blackhawks, the Florida Panthers, and the New Jersey Devils. During the 2018–19 season, he played his final professional season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The 2010 National Championship he won with the Boston College Eagles was a career high point for Hayes and evidence of his skill and commitment to the game.
