Jim Scott Reunite – Jim Scott, who lives in Lafayette Hill and is 90 years old, shared his Christmas desire for 2016: to get in touch with any living relatives from his biological family. After being left on the streets of Pittsburgh as an infant in 1932, Scott was unable to maintain any familial ties. The quest that Scott did for his family tree was covered by Justin Vellucci in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Scott had no recollection of his birth family; years later, he found out that he had been left on a doorstep in Pittsburgh when he was just two years old.
Jim Scott don’t known he was adopted
Officers from the local police department came to his aid. Soon after that, a local couple decided to adopt him. When asked to reflect on his upbringing, Scott replied, “I was extremely, extremely well cared for.” The first time he looked at his birth certificate was in 1953, when he submitted his application to join the Naval Air Cadets. At that time, he had no idea that he had been adopted. His family tree indicated that his parents were “unknown.” Even after his profession as a guidance counselor moved him to Norristown in the east and he began a family of his own, Scott continued to keep his history a secret.
Jim Scott Christmas desire was fulfilled by his oldest daughter
When he finally told his children the news, his oldest daughter fulfilled her father’s Christmas desire by researching the family tree in order to find out any information she could. She carried out a fruitful search on Ancestry.com, which led her to her siblings as well as her cousins. The one-of-a-kind Christmas present that Scott received almost six years ago continues to bring about positive effects. Even as recently as the year before, he was still unearthing unexpected connections within his family tree. When he was finally able to speak on the phone with one of his half brothers, their newly discovered relation joked with him, “You owe me 86 birthday presents.” Jim scott is happy has he reunited with long-lost family.
