Death: Jillian Hegarty Trinity College Car Accident – On Thursday night, a 20-year-old Trinity College student was killed and two others were injured in a hit-and-run near the college campus.
As reported by courant.com, At approximately 11:37 p.m., officers were alerted to the area of New Britain Avenue and Henry Street on the complaint of a significant motor vehicle vs. pedestrian crash, according to Hartford police spokesperson Lt. Aaron Boisvert. Boisvert said officers discovered three female pedestrians with serious injuries when they arrived.

According to Boisvert, one of the victims was unresponsive when he arrived on the scene. All three patients were sent to a hospital in the region for treatment. According to authorities and Trinity College, the unresponsive victim, 20-year-old Jillian Hegarty of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at Hartford Hospital.
The second victim, a 19-year-old woman, is now listed in critical but stable condition, according to Boisvert. The third victim, a 20-year-old woman, was released from the hospital shortly after. According to Boisvert, she suffered minor injuries.
All three victims are Trinity College students, according to police.
