An investigation has been opened by the Rock County Sheriff’s Office following reports that a male inmate was discovered deceased in the Rock County Jail early on Friday morning. It was alleged that an officer was performing a security check in a housing unit at around 8:00 in the morning when they were requested to check on a guy who was sleeping towards the front of the unit. The officer approached the individual and attempted to communicate with him, but he did not respond to his calls.
According to officials from the sheriff’s office, the officer immediately began administering CPR until the arrival of the paramedics.
