Jerry Priesgen Death – 61-year-old Jerry Priesgen also known as “Pink Hat” has been identified as the victim of the car accident in Washington Co. At about 1:15 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2023, the Washington County Dispatch Center received a report of a collision that had occurred near the intersection of Highway 33 and Alpine Road and involved a semi-truck as well as two automobiles.
The Allenton Fire Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office both sent deputies to the scene after receiving a call about the incident. As soon as emergency personnel arrived at the scene, it was determined that the driver of one of the vehicles had suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident.
First, the Allenton Fire Department requested that West Bend Fire Intercept respond to the scene, and then, a little while later, they requested that Flight for Life do the same. The Flight for Life helicopter made an emergency landing on Highway 33, and the injured person was finally taken to Froedtert Wauwatosa Hospital by Allenton Fire.
When some time had passed, the officials at Froedtert Hospital informed the Washington County Sheriff’s Office that the person operating the lead car, Priesgen, had passed away. The driver of the semi-truck and the driver of the vehicle that was following the lead car did not receive transportation from the rescue team.
Two vehicles were traveling eastbound on Highway 33 when the accident occurred. The lead vehicle, which was occupied by only the driver, a 61-year-old man from the Town of Addison, slowed down and came to a stop in order to make a left turn onto Alpine Drive. The second vehicle then collided with the first vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle, which was inhabited by only the driver, failed to stop in time for the first vehicle to complete the left-hand turn and rear-ended the vehicle that was already stopped.
As a direct consequence of the incident, the front vehicle was forced into the adjacent lane of traffic, where it collided with a semi-truck that was traveling in the opposite direction on Highway 33. In order to facilitate the investigation into the collision and the removal of the vehicles involved, Highway 33 was shut down for nearly three hours.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office will not release any additional information at this time as they are continuing their investigation into the crash that occurred earlier.
