Jay Brumbaugh Death – Jay Brumbaugh, a member of Eden Emergency and Rescue Squad has died on May 27, 2023. His wife, family members, friends, and the members of EEMS mourn his death greatly as they remember how impactful his life was. Jay Brumbaugh was committed to Eden Emergency and Rescue Squad before he passed away after working 35 years.
About Jay Brumbaugh
In 1988, Jay enrolled in the American Red Cross course offered by the Eden Emergency and Rescue Squad. Jay and his son Steve, both outstanding members of the community with an interest in medicine and public service, were recruited through this program. From the beginning, Jay wanted more than simply to be a member of the group; he wanted to get involved. Jay’s primary responsibilities included responding to EMS calls as a First Aider and driving the ambulance, but he also had a strong interest in the Rescue aspect of EEMS.
Even as recently as our May 18th session, Jay was present and participating in Rescue training meetings. In his role as Chaplain, Jay would pray at the beginning of the General Business meetings, and he would often pray about topics that affect not just their community, but also the country and world at large.
Jay left an impression on the minds of people around him by the stories he told, the lessons he imparted, and the laughter and introspection he inspired. Certificates of honor were presented during our annual installation dinners to members of the “Jay Brumbaugh, Get Lost” Club, which may be remembered by those who have been with EEMS for a while. When Jay was younger, he honestly struggled to memorize the layout of Eden Town and its hospitals as well as a sizeable portion of its highways.
Condolences are been sent to the family members of Jay Brumbaugh, friends including Eden Emergency and Rescue Squad. Jay Brumbaugh, who served as the Chaplain for the Eden Emergency and Rescue Squad and had been a member for 35 years, passed away on May 27th, 2023.
