Jason Raiford Death – Jason Raiford has been identified by the authorities as the man who was fatally shot over the weekend in New Kensington. The tragic incident took place on Sunday at about 2 p.m., outside the Valley Royal Court apartments on Fifth Avenue.
According to a statement from Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli, two young people were detained early on Monday on felony gun charges, and a warrant for the arrest of another young person, Amir Kennedy, 14, of New Kensington, was issued for him on a charge of homicide. The others weren’t identified. “This is a horrible tragedy for Mr. Raiford’s family and friends and Westmoreland County at large,” Nicole Ziccarelli added.
His father Steve Raiford shared the devastating news of his death on Facebook expressing his sadness and love for his son. “For whatever reason, I have not been on Facebook for a year…My son Jason was killed today, and I needed to post that the love that I have for him will never die…I’m broken, and hurt, but not done…DAD!!!.”
According to Jason’s Facebook profile, he went to Pittsburgh Oliver and is a resident of Natrona, Pennsylvania. According to a fundraising page organized by Ashley Fondrk to raised funds to assist Jason’s family, Jason is a beloved husband to Caryn Raiford and a father of her two daughters.
