James Muller Death – James Muller, Irmo, Columbia firefighter has been pronounced dead by the officials after South Carolina apartment fire. His death was announced by Columbia Firefighter Chief Aubrey D. Jenkins. Chief Aubrey has just updated the media on the massive multi-alarm apartment fire that occurred this afternoon at the Tropical Ridge Apartments. The family members and South Carolina fire department mourn the death of James Muller.

According to the findings of the Richland County Coroner, a firefighter from the Irmo Fire District passed away as a direct result of the injuries he sustained while battling this blaze. He was one of a total of seven firefighters, five of whom were from the Columbia Rural Fire Department (CRFD), and two of whom were from the Irmo Fire Department (Irmo FD). After his death was announced, the Columbia Rural Fire Department (CRFD) and Irmo Fire Department have been devastated.
In addition, two additional residents of the apartment where the fire incident happened were injured. They were both transferred to a hospital for treatment of their injuries following the huge fire incident. A little before 4:15 o’clock in the afternoon, crews from both agencies originally responded to the premises.
Columbia Fire Department posted that “the building suffered heavy damages and 19 people have been left displaced as a result of the fire. Our thoughts and prayers go out to our partners at Irmo Fire District and our many dedicated firefighters following this tragic day.” Because of the scope of the blaze and its progression, the fire officials who were already on the scene would request a second alarm, which would result in the deployment of more units.
At this moment, the origin of the fire is being looked into by us in conjunction with the Columbia Police Department, the State Law Enforcement Division, and South Carolina State Fire. As a direct result of the fire, the building sustained significant damage, and 19 individuals were forced to find alternative housing.
