CHP reports that Jamestown resident, James Jenson was killed by a pickup truck on Highway 49, last week. James Jenson, 36, was walking north of Main Street in Jamestown around 6:40 p.m. when he was struck, when he was on the shoulder of the road.
When Jenson suddenly entered the northbound lane, Robert Campbell, 65, of Modesto, was driving a 2022 Chevrolet pickup truck north. According to CHP, there was insufficient time to take evasive measures.
Jenson died as a result of his injuries after being sent to Adventist Health Sonora. Officers carried out a preliminary investigation and discovered the accident was not drug or alcohol induced.
