James Dibble Jr. Death – The death of James Dibble Jr. who was involved in accident has been confirmed dead by the officials. The crash that resulted in his death happened on Sunday, September 3. The hit-and-run accident on Old Highway 1 close to the town of Simmesport resulted in the death of a resident of the town.
According to the Louisiana State Police, James Dibble Jr., who was 40 years old, was walking on the street when he was struck by a car and suffered fatal injuries. It was determined that he had passed away at the site. LSP determined that Mary Cazelot, age 40 and from Simmesport, was the person operating the vehicle. She was taken into custody at the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office after being carried there. There, she was charged with felony hit-and-run, obstruction of justice, and driving while her license was suspended.
Even though the circumstances surrounding this accident are still being looked into, distracted and careless driving remains one of the biggest contributors to traffic collisions in our state. The Louisiana State Police wants all drivers to remain vigilant when they are on the road. A momentary fall in consciousness might have extremely dangerous repercussions. The inquiry into the case is still ongoing.

On July 21, at approximately midnight, a single-vehicle accident on Bayou DeGlaise Road resulted in the death of a man from Simmesport. An 18-year-old man from Simmesport was driving a 2010 Dodge on Bayou DeGlaise Road when the vehicle veered off the roadway, drove down the ditch embankment, and collided with a tree, as reported by the Louisiana State Police. The driver sustained moderate injuries and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. He was taken by ambulance to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
His passenger, Thadeus Xavier Alejandro, who was also 18 years old, suffered severe injuries as a result of the accident, and he was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. Alejandro was not fastened in with a seatbelt at the time. It is believed that impairment played a role in this collision. In the course of doing routine toxicology, samples were collected and sent in for analysis. The cause of this crash has not yet been determined.
