Jamea Harris Death – In connection with the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old lady, two males are in custody and have been charged with capital murder. Darius Miles, a former University of Alabama basketball star, is one of the males, according to Jack Kennedy, Commander of Tuscaloosa’s Violent Crimes Unit (VCU). The university’s website has since removed his profile. Miles, a 21-year-old student, played basketball for the University of Alabama.
20-year-old Michael Lynn Davis, a resident of Charles County, Maryland, is the other individual accused in this case. There is no connection between Davis and the University of Alabama.

Just before 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, Tuscaloosa Police (TPD) and University of Alabama Police (UAPD) responded to a shooting along The Strip. Birmingham resident Jamea Jonae Harris, 23, was found in the Jeep’s passenger seat already deceased. She has no connection to Alabama University. The driver claimed that shots had been fired into his car and that he had retaliated in self-defense, maybe hitting a suspect in the process.
Both suspects’ families were present as their sons were led from the station and placed in a police vehicle while wearing handcuffs. Both Miles and Davis are being held without bond after being accused of capital murder.
