Jacob G. Still Death, Oklahoma Man Dies From Injuries After Falling Out Of UTV In Liberal: A man has died following an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crash on Wednesday morning in Seward County, southwest Kansas, according to authorities. The accident was reported at 10:36 a.m. on Wednesday in the 1800 block of Frontage Road in Liberal, near the Cosmetology Building at Seward County Community College.
The Kansas Highway Patrol stated that a Polaris ultra-terrain vehicle (UTV) was traveling north on a campus road when it turned the corner to head east. As the driver turned and accelerated, a passenger in the bed of the Polaris lost his balance and fell out of the vehicle. The passenger, identified as 29-year-old Jacob G. Still of Tyrone, Oklahoma, was transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The patrol noted that Still was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
The driver of the UTV, 26-year-old Tucker J. Smith of Kismet, Kansas, and another passenger, 20-year-old Breckin W. Buttry of Liberal, Kansas, were not injured in the crash. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that neither Smith nor Buttry was wearing a seat belt. The incident highlights the dangers associated with ATV usage and the critical importance of wearing seat belts to prevent such tragedies.
