Jack Windels – On June 26th, 2022, Jack Windels was involved in an accident which landed him in the hospital with sever injuries. Windels is a 16-year-old teenager that is known for helping others in need. He was described by family and friends as a special boy with a big heart. Lois Chester Schwan his grandmother, has posted on Facebook about how Windels fought on the hospital bed to survive but the brain damage grown to the point that it was no longer survivable as said by the doctors.
Windels was involved in the accident when he was riding on his motorcycle. He collided with a vehicle and sustained life-threatening injuries. After his accident he was transported to the hospital in St. Cloud where he was reported to be stable in a medically induced coma at the time. He had many broken ribs and was in stable condition after having fluid removed from his head and lungs.
He sustained a traumatic brain injury and was placed on a life support system for some certain time. It was suggested to him that he should donate his organ when his survival rate really low ang he agreed. The agreement shows his level of kindness even at the point of his death.
Windels’s parent made the decision to donate Windels’s tissues and organs so that he might continue doing what he loves most which is helping those in need. Around 6 p.m. in the evening, they moved him to Minnesota Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis after keeping him sedated for the next 48 hours. Jack died about 10minutes after being removed from life support on Friday, July 8th, 2022. Jack donated his organ in other to help others live.
Lois Chester Schwan said in his post that “somewhere there are people celebrating the miracle of an organ donation from our dear grandson. Jack passed peacefully in about 10 minutes after being taken from life support today. Jack received an honor walk with bubbles, he is giving his heart, 2 kidneys, liver and pancreas. Thank you Jack Windels for making me a grandmother and for being you. I love so very much… you are free”
