Jack Runge Death – Midland Power Director Jack Runge has passed away. He used to be a volunteer firefighter for the Buckeye Fire Department and a field teacher for the Fire Service Training Bureau. Jack Runge of Buckeye, Iowa was announced dead today, Friday, the 19th of May 2023. He had a funny and unique personality and was never afraid to show it and his friends loved that about him. Thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
Midland Power Cooperative released a statement regarding the passing of Midland Power Director Jack Runge:
“It’s with great sadness that we share the news of Director Jack Runge’s passing. Jack was a devoted husband and father, who dedicated his life to his community, serving 37 years as a firefighter for the Buckeye Fire Department and 28 years on the Midland Power board. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.”
Jack Runge’s cause of death
The circumstances surrounding the cause of Jack Runge’s death have not been made known to the public at the time of this publication. However, his family has confirmed the heartbreaking news. Jack Runge’s death has left his friends, family and the entire Buckeye community devastated and shocked.
Who was Jack Runge?
Jack Runge lived in Buckeye Township, Hardin County. He graduated from Radcliffe High School and Ellsworth Community College. Jack was happily married. He had four (4) grown children. Jack was a grain and livestock farmer. He was a retired volunteer firefighter for Buckeye Fire Department. Jack also worked as a past field instructor for the Fire Service Training Bureau – Division of the State Fire Marshall.
He was the Past President of the Iowa Firefighters Association, Vice President of the Iowa Society of Fire Service Instructors, Steward at Immanuel Memorial United Church Of Christ, Alden Iowa, Secretary/Treasurer of Buckeye Cemetery Association, and Midland Power Cooperative board member since 1995, past President.
He attended Iowa Institute for Cooperatives’ Director Certification Program. Jack was a graduate of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Credentialed Cooperative Director program and Board Leadership program. He earned NRECA Director Gold Credential. Jack has been a member of Midland Power Cooperative since 1984.
The family will release an obituary and funeral arrangements for Jack Runge.
