Ivan Cabral Death – 29-year-old Ivanildo “Ivan” Cabral was shot and killed on Monday night after violence broke out in the parking lot of Randolph’s Mojito Country Club. Towanda Amponsah, mother of Randolph shooting victim Ivanildo Cabral said “Whoever did this, they took a beautiful person.”

“I don’t know what happened. He went to this pool party and next you know, I’m getting a call that he’s gone,” Amponsah said. After a pool party celebrating the Fourth of July on Monday night, Ivanildo Cabral and another man were reportedly shot outside Mojito’s Country Club at around 8:00 p.m. The District Attorney of Norfolk County has reported that the other victim is doing well despite suffering serious injuries.

Mojito County Club bills itself on the internet as a Latin-themed entertainment complex that hosts events like pool parties. After the shooting, our team on the scene saw families with children fleeing the area. “It’s not a violent area. Nothing is going on ever around here,” said Bobby Abbruzzese of Randolph.

“It’s really sad that something like that can bring down a neighborhood like this.” On Tuesday afternoon, police returned to the scene to investigate a long blood trail that led from the pool’s entrance gate. The district attorney’s office released a statement saying the shooting occurred as the two victims and the other men were leaving the club. Shots were fired after an argument broke out. The mother of the Worcester murder victim was baffled by the incident.

“He doesn’t hang out there. He doesn’t go out there. I don’t understand if he was tricked into going there, or whatever was going on,” Amponsah said. Towanda said she doesn’t know why her son was in Randolph, she said he mostly stayed in the Worcester area where he grew up. Towanda remembers Ivan’s love for amateur boxing and his generous nature. She cannot understand why anyone would want to kill him.

“I just hope they find who did this to him. I just hope they find, that’s all I want, is some justice,” she said. There are no arrests.
