After a gunshot at Huntsville’s Sonnie Hereford Elementary School on Wilson Drive, one youngster was taken to the hospital. The student was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries,
According to Huntsville police, the shooting was unintentionally self-inflicted, and the family of the injured child had been alerted.

Parents were notified of the shooting within the building via a notification on Huntsville City Schools’ website.
Families were instructed to stay off campus while school officials worked with law enforcement to investigate the tragedy.
