Leimert Park Juneteenth Shooting Investigations – Over a dozen police officials are on the scene at Leimert Park in Los Angeles, California following reports of an active shooter Monday. According to reports, shots have been fired at Leimert Park during the ongoing Juneteenth Festival celebration. According to claims, the shots rang out just before Jasmine Sullivan’s performance. At the time of this publication, no victims have been confirmed.
Multiple people have been reportedly bruised following a series of human stampedes at the festival venue. According to a commenter, “Leimert Park got shot up, Oakland got shot up, all for Juneteenth, huh? That Jealousy, envy, and ego shit gotta go. Putting kids’ lives in danger for whatever reason. It’s Supposed to be about community and uplifting ourselves. Sad to see.” Law enforcement agencies have not confirmed the claims of a shooter at the location.
Multiple police vehicles are on the scene at this time, a police helicopter could be seen hovering over a part of the scene.

After firing shots at an occupied vehicle during the past weekend in Los Angeles, a man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the incident. During his arraignment on June 13, Los Angeles resident Freddy Martinez, who is only 18 years old, was charged with attempted murder, assault with a firearm, and shooting at an inhabited vehicle. Freddy Martinez lives in Los Angeles. In light of the $2.2 million bond that was set, he is currently being held at the county jail.
By the statements made by the Santa Monica Police Department, the altercation started on June 10 when a report of a fight was made near the intersection of 32nd Street and Pearl. The victim related to the police officers that he had come across a gathering of approximately ten individuals in the center of the roadway who was yelling and impeding traffic.
The victim honked their horn at the gathering to persuade them to move, which resulted in numerous people running towards the victim’s car and demanding that they exit the vehicle. Instead, the victim turned around and heard multiple gunshots as he drove away from the scene of the crime. Officers discovered several spent round casings close to the intersection of 32nd and Pearl. Even though the victim’s vehicle was hit by many bullets, the victim did not sustain any injuries.
“The shooter hopped into a truck, and it left the scene going northbound on 32nd Street,” said Lieutenant Erika R. Aklufi. “Another officer who responded found the suspect vehicle and caught two adult males inside. One of the men was identified as Freddy Martinez, a Los Angeles native who is 18 years old. Martinez was taken into custody and booked for his involvement in the attempted homicide.
