The suspect who is accused of stabbing a soldier in the head at an army barracks made his appearance in court. Before David Ferguson was taken to the hospital in an air ambulance, Aidan Warner is accused of abandoning him with knife wounds to the base of his skull. During the time that the soldier, who was 26 years old, was recovering, two persons were detained, and Warner was charged with wounding with intent.
The defendant, who is 20 years old and wearing a jacket of a darker shade of blue, did not enter a plea at the Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court and was consequently transferred to the Winchester Crown Court for a hearing on August 30. Dark-haired Warner simply made a brief statement to verify his age and address.
The prosecutor, Fiona McMurray, was heard telling the magistrates, “It’s just a matter of sending the case to the crown court and I would invite you to do so.” Warner was granted bail with the stipulation that he is not permitted to enter the Mons Barracks in Aldershot, which is the location where the alleged assault took place in November of 2016.
Additionally, he was not allowed to communicate with Mr. Ferguson. After the alarm was raised at six in the morning on the day that the soldier was stabbed, a team from an air ambulance landed in the area close to the barracks guardroom. After rushing to the barracks, members of the Royal Military Police and medical personnel discovered that Mr. Ferguson had been injured by a knife.
The major trauma center at St. George’s Hospital in Tooting, London, was where he was rushed to immediately after the accident. Within a short period of time, he was able to make a full recovery and was able to communicate with his friends on Facebook to let them know what had occurred.
