Henry Frank Spoon JR Death – Police say a 39-year-old father and his 14-year-old son has passed away in an apparent murder-suicide. Henry Frank Spoon Jr. and Shawn Spoon died in the incident that happened Sunday, April 2, 2023. According to Orleans County Sheriff’s Office, the two males, of Lockport, NY were confirmed dead at the scene of the incident. According to reports, Henry Spoon used a rifle to shoot his son Shawn in the head and a knife to cut his throat. Henry Spoon then tried to cut his own throat and then shot himself in the head with his own gun.
The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office 911 Communication Center got a complaint of a suspicious car parked in an orchard on Kendrick Road in the Town of Carlton on April 2nd, 2023. The orchard was located in the Town of Carlton. When the deputies arrived, they found a vehicle roughly 75 feet away from the street and inside of an orchard. During further inquiry, it was discovered that two people had been found in the orchard, both of whom had passed away around 400 feet away from the vehicle.
Henry Frank Spoon Jr., age 39, and Shawn Spoon, age 14, both of Lockport, New York, were identified as the people who were involved in the incident. According to the evidence that was found at the site, as well as the findings of the investigation that has been conducted up until this point, as well as the conclusions reached by the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office following the autopsies of the two victims.

The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation into the circumstances that led up to this unfortunate tragedy in order to piece together the history of what happened. The Orleans County District Attorney’s Office and the Major Felony Crime Task Force, the Lockport Police Department, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, the New York State Police, and the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office are all working together with the Sheriff’s Office on this investigation.
