Henry Bottomley Death – In Hull Prison, Henry Bottomley, a former school custodian and special constable who sexually assaulted three young children has passed away. In February 2020, Henry Bottomley was sentenced to eight years in prison after entering a guilty plea to 12 of the 14 counts of gross indecency with girls under the age of 14. The crimes were committed in the 1980s and 1990s while Filey resident Bottomley was employed as a school caretaker at Moorside Junior and Infant School in Ripon, North Yorkshire.

In August 2019, shortly after he was accused of committing many acts of gross indecency, two more victims came forward and reported the incidents. When Bottomley, a Filey resident, was finally sentenced to prison, he was 87 years old and had a number of chronic medical ailments.
