Heather Brown Death – Member of Windham Chamber Singers Heather Brown of Portland, Maine has sadly passed away. She died on Tuesday 26th September 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 44. He was announced dead by Windham Chamber Singers through a Facebook post that reads “Sad news today as the Windham Chamber Singers family mourns the loss of one of our own, Heather (Reagan) Brown ’97. Heather was a member of the choir that won the Prize of Vienna in 1996 and was a soloist on our Inspired album”.

Consistently dedicated to her academic pursuits, she emerged as the salutatorian of the ’97 graduating class at Windham High School. On the soccer field, she carved her name into legend and left a formidable legacy when she transitioned to collegiate play as a walk-on freshman. Her talents extended beyond the sports arena, as Heather was a gifted singer and an integral part of the renowned Windham Chamber Singers. The choir achieved international acclaim by clinching the prestigious Prize of Vienna in Vienna, Austria, in 1996.
Venturing into higher education on a scholarship, she attended Marietta College in Ohio. It was here that she honed her communication skills, a foundation she would later rely on extensively in her professional journey, as well as in her role as a mentor to young individuals through her dedicated volunteer work. Heather also forged lasting bonds during her college years, joining the Alpha Xi Delta sorority.

Her path led her to Long Island, New York, where she assumed a pivotal role in a county-wide political race and crossed paths with Seth, who would become an important part of her life. Subsequently, she made the bustling metropolis of New York City her home, taking on the role of a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society while concurrently pursuing a Masters in Public Administration at CUNY-Baruch College. Upon completing her degree, she achieved a significant milestone, receiving the prestigious Presidential Management Fellowship, which propelled her to the heart of the nation’s capital, Washington D.C.

She leaves behind her awesome children, Ezra and Abigail, and her incredible husband, Seth. They loved to hike, garden, and cook together as a family. She also leaves her loving parents, Carl and Carol Reagan of Windham, two sisters, Cortney (Brendan) of Naples, Ashley (Adam) of Cumberland, nieces Finley, Marley, and Reagan and nephew Brody, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was also beloved by Seth’s parents, Deborah and Wendy Brown of Long Beach, NY and his brother, Joshua of Cedarhurst, NY, and boatloads of friends, neighbors, and colleagues. Funeral services to honor Heather’s incredible life will be held at Congregation Bet Ha’am at 81 Westbrook St. in South Portland on Monday, October 2 at 1 pm.
