Harvey Elliott’s love for football reflects in his success story – The 19-year-old Elliott has started eight of Liverpool’s 10 games this season across all competitions, including both of their Champions League games against Napoli and Ajax. He has won the Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup with Liverpool. After the 2-1 victory over Newcastle in August, manager Jurgen Klopp referred to him as a great player, and he might get another start on Tuesday against Rangers.

However, Elliott’s inclusion in the Liverpool team among superstars like Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk is not a surprise to Scott Chickelday, the former QPR development coach. It is an exciting time for Liverpool supporters, Chickelday told BBC Sport. He is learning in training from some outstanding players who are in front of him. He must rise to that level if he wants to win the opportunity to play. He aspires to victory, including participation in the Champions League, Premier League championships, and perhaps even one day the Ballon d’Or. He will set goals similar to these.
Elliott, also known as “Mr. Football” when he was younger, grew up rooting for Liverpool with his father Scott, but he would hone his skills at QPR. With Chickelday as his tutor, Elliott would spend hours on the practice field honing his set-pieces and talents in preparation for his goal of playing at Anfield one day.
Chickelday observed, “When I initially came in, he was rather shy because he was tiny. “He played a year higher, and that group included some major figures. He had trouble getting into it at first. However, when you play well, like Harvey, you get accepted. There was nothing flashy or haughty about him. He simply loved football. Never once did I see him without a ball. Even the things he struggled with, he would spend hours perfecting. It became a fixation.
He would practice whatever you taught him for hours. He would keep going until he succeeded. He won’t give up until he begins to accomplish some things. I sincerely hope he succeeds. He merits it.
