He died on Monday 28th August 2023 after a deadly industrial accident while at work at age 40. He was confirmed dead through a post that says “Keep Crystal Carter and her family in your prayers this coming week. I can not imagine the feeling of loosing my big brother”. Harrison Phipps, a devoted resident of Putnam County throughout his entire life, dedicated his career to welding, with his most recent position at St. Johns Shipbuilding in Palatka. Beyond his profession, he found immense joy in automotive work, dirt track racing, and various water sports. Boot’s love for his family was unwavering, and he consistently lent a helping hand to any friend facing difficulties. His faith was deeply rooted in the Baptist tradition. His academic curiosity was a defining characteristic of his character. He has an insatiable curiosity that compels him to study and learn more about the world around him.
Because of this, he was able to think outside the box and come up with novel solutions to problems that others may ignore. Harrison’s openness and flexibility shine through in his eagerness to try new things and consider alternative perspectives. Harrison Phipps was incredibly modest and compassionate, despite his many successes and positive traits. He has a natural knack for getting to know individuals and empathizing with what they’re going through.

He was preceded in death by both of his grandfathers, Butler Murrow and Harrison Phipps, Sr; a grandmother, Lucile Phipps; his wife, Tammy Phipps; and two infant nephews, Dalton Lee Lowe and baby Carter. Survivors include his father and step-mother, Harrison Phipps, Jr. (Cathy); mother and step-father, Debbie Blackwelder (Jerry); son, Chance Harrison Phipps; daughter, Kaylee N. Phipps; sisters and brother-in-law, Tabatha Lee Phipps and Crystal Elaine Carter (Cory); step-son, Austin Winters; step-brothers, Jeremey Blackwelder and Jason, David and Adam Synder; and step-sister and spouse, Carolyn Mitchell (Josh).
Calling hours will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2023 at Masters Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Johns, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Etoniah Cemetery in Bardin.
