Greshon Higgins Death – Authorities are looking into a collision that occurred early on Saturday morning, April 1st, 2023, near Woodhill Drive. At 9:17 AM, emergency personnel received a call about an accident in which one vehicle had rolled over in a body of water. Police reported that when they arrived, the top portion of the car was underwater. Once rescuers freed one adult guy from the car, he was sent to UK Medical Center. In the hospital, his death was confirmed.
Greshon Higgins, a 23-year-old resident of Lexington, Kentucky, has been named as the victim by the coroner for Fayette County. Authorities determined that the drowning was accidental. The CRU is still looking into the matter.

One woman was killed and another was injured in an accident that occurred early in the morning in Lexington. At around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2023, emergency responders responded to a report of an accident involving a single vehicle that occurred at the intersection of Tates Creek Road and Garden Grove Walk. According to Lieutenant Joe Anderson, the vehicle collided with a tree that was located in the median of Tates Creek, flipped over, and then caught fire.
Two people had to be extricated from the vehicle, but one of the women, a 46-year-old named Elaine Patterson, was pronounced dead on the spot. The other woman was sent to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening. The investigation into the wreck is being carried out by the collision reconstruction unit.
Lexington Car Crash Fatalities Rate
Road traffic accidents are the number one killer of Americans under the age of 54, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Given that both fatal auto accidents and overall mortality considerably increased between 2020 and 2021, this data is difficult to ignore in Lexington. The 2021 Annual Traffic Report of the Lexington Police Department shows that there were 14,450 collisions in Lexington, Kentucky, with 1,807 of those auto-vehicle crashes causing injuries. 35 of these collisions resulted in fatalities, totaling 41 deaths in 2021. This represents a 46.4% increase in fatalities from 2020 and a 29.6% increase in fatal collisions.
