According to statements made by the Virginia State Police on Tuesday, a 2011 Buick Regal that was driving northbound on Chippenham Parkway/Route 150 when it drove off the road at the exit ramp for Route 76/Powhite Parkway to the left and hit the guardrailing was involved in the accident. After the crash on Monday, the truck caught on fire. The accident, which took place just before 3:30 in the afternoon, caused all lanes of Chippenham Parkway to be closed.

One teen passed away and four others were injured in a single-car accident in Louisa County, and the Virginia State Police are now investigating the incident. Three other youths, including the driver, were also injured, although their conditions were not considered to be life-threatening.
In the medical center, the driver received two separate summonses: one for dangerous driving, and another for exceeding passenger limits. To this day, the cause of the accident has not been determined.
