The victim has been identified as Gregory Wagner, according to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office. Gregory Wagner, a resident of Orchard Park, New York passed away from injuries sustained in the fatal motorcycle crash. The crash took place just before 2 p.m. on Transit Road in Elma on Tuesday, the 20th of June 2023.
How did the crash happen?
Transit Road experienced a substantial closure in both directions, spanning between Clinton Street and the intersection of Southwestern Boulevard and Old Transit Road, lasting for an extended period. The Sheriff’s Crash Investigation Unit is actively engaged in the investigation to ascertain the factors that led to the crash.

On Saturday afternoon, September 10, a fatal crash occurred between Elma and McCleary, claiming the life of an Oregon man. The victim, identified as 21-year-old Devon D. Miller, was driving a 2004 Chevy Tahoe when he was ejected from the vehicle at approximately 4:30 p.m., as reported by the Washington State Patrol.
According to the incident report, Miller was travelling westbound on Washington State Route 8 towards Elma when he crossed the median cable barrier and rolled the vehicle. Tragically, Miller was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, resulting in his unfortunate demise at the scene.
In a phone interview, Trooper Katherine Weatherwax stated that alcohol is not believed to have played a role in the crash. Additionally, the incident report indicates that there were no other vehicles involved in the incident.
