Greg Foster Death – Over the weekend, the South Carolina political community was shocked to learn of the death of political strategist and consultant Greg Foster. South Carolina political consultant Greg Foster was announced dead yesterday, Monday, the 1st of May 2023. He died in his Columbia SC home just days shy of his fortieth birthday. There was no cause of death reported for Greg Foster. His family is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death in the hopes of determining what happened.
Greg Foster’s early life
Foster was born on May 2, 1983, in Columbia, South Carolina. He started his career by working for veteran business and political communications strategist Bob McAlister. Foster went to college at the University of South Carolina and was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. After working for Harrell for ten years, Foster ran his own marketing company for a few years. In March 2018, he joined Wesley Donehue at Push Digital.
Career
Foster made a name for himself in Palmetto politics as the blunt but very successful chief strategist for former S.C. House speaker Bobby Harrell, who was one of the most powerful politicians in South Carolina over the past 25 years. In addition to running Harrell’s communications, he was also a big part of how the speaker’s office set its legislative plan.
From 2005 to 2015, Foster worked for Harrell for ten years. Several people who worked closely with Foster told many that they hadn’t seen or heard from him since he left Push. At the time of his death, Foster was said to be working in the financial field. Headquartered out of its newly-expanded Columbia office, Greg Foster has built a Push Digital team of seasoned professionals focused on traditional public affairs, crisis management, grassroots advocacy and corporate communications.
