According to a statement made by a representative for the Delaware River Port Authority, police were able to collect the body of an unnamed individual who had leapt from the Commodore Barry Bridge on Saturday afternoon. Kasuba reported that a male who appeared to be between the ages of 25 and 35 was spotted walking onto the bridge from the Chester ramps at approximately 11:30 a.m.
According to Kasuba, the body was discovered on the riverbank in Chester next to a pier, and it was sent to the Delaware County Medical Examiner’s office. The cantilevered Commodore Barry Bridge spans 2.6 miles and rises several hundred feet over the Delaware River. It is the longest suspension bridge in the world.
