Grand Rapids Shooting Investigations – Police in Grand Rapids, Michigan are investigating a shooting that left one individual with a head injury near Bridge Street Market Sunday. According to law enforcement agencies, a person has been injured following a shooting at occurred at Bridge Street Market located in the area of 405 Seward Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI. The incident happened at approximately 3 p.m. this afternoon. Police say the victim is alert, but sustained a head injury. According to reports, officers are now hunting for the suspect involved in the incident.
According to Fox17, Police initially thought the noise was coming from Douglas Park, so named from its proximity to the scene. But, reports of an injured person near Bridge Street and Seward Avenue began coming in quickly. According to reports, the victim sustained a head injury in the incident. How exactly this person was hurt is currently unknown. The police have not yet determined whether the victim was shot or attacked.

A man who was shot and died in a crowded Grand Rapids neighborhood early Thursday morning has been identified by police. According to the Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD), 39-year-old Laeveil Walker was shot and died early in the morning outside My Place Bar on South Division and Fair Street. Chief Eric Winstrom of the Grand Rapids Police Department. Officers were out on patrol at 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, when they heard rapid gunfire from that area. Officers arrived to find Walker and another man in the severe condition who had been rushed to the hospital.
Walker was declared deceased on the scene. According to Winstrom, the other man is expected to live. “I genuinely replied to myself. I arrived around 45 minutes later and was astounded by the scale of the crime scene. “I’d like to say that there were evidence markers spread out over about a block,” Chief Winstrom said in an interview at headquarters. “There were well over 50 shell casings, and when I pulled into my parking spot this morning after going home, sleeping, and returning to work, our evidence [team] was going out there for a second shot.”
Chief Winstrom stated that there were possibly 100 shot casings on the ground, which drew his attention. He noted that, while the inquiry is still in its early stages, he believes the large number of casings indicate “multiple weapons and multiple shooters” or that an automatic rifle was used. A suspect description has not yet been released. The shooting is still being investigated.
