Grace Green Missing – The police dog unit was deployed to seek a missing teen near Avalon Beach. The NSW Police have issued an appeal for the public’s assistance in locating Grace Green, 19, who was last seen at Palm Beach on April 26. Ms Green’s family reported her missing to the police yesterday (Friday, April 28), out of concern for her welfare.
Officers assigned to the Northern Beaches Police Area Command promptly launched an investigation to locate her, and it is believed that they discovered a vehicle she may have been driving in the vicinity of North Avalon. Yesterday at 4.30 p.m., NSW Police began a search of the area around Bangalley Head, North Avalon, using a dog unit to track the movements of a missing young woman.
Surf Life Saving New South Wales was requested to assist in the search of headland reserves, and a jet-ski was launched to survey rock shelves from the water if she was nearby and in peril. With only minutes of rapidly fading light left, the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter made multiple circuits over the area before returning to base.
Ms Green was not located in the vicinity after the PolAir Helicopter was dispatched to continue the search using its thermal imaging capabilities. Grace Green is described as having a Caucasian appearance, standing approximately 162 centimetres tall, having a slender build, a fair complexion, and long, slightly wavy, dark-brown hair. She may be wearing a loose-fitting shirt, black hosiery, and black gumboot-style shoes.
It is believed that the search for Grace Green will recommence at 8:00 a.m. today (Saturday, April 29), with the assistance of Rural Fire Service (RFS) volunteers.
The public is also urged to maintain a lookout, and anyone who sees her, or may know her whereabouts, is urged to contact Northern Beaches Police on (02) 9971 3399 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
