George Johnson Death, Community Mourns Nottingham Fire Department Life Member: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Johnson, a living member of the Nottingham Fire Department Station 65. This past Friday, May 3, 2024, he passed away. It was through a social media publication that the department made the announcement that George Johnson had passed away. The publication said, “It is with deep regret that the officers and members of Nottingham Fire Department Station 65 announce the death of life member George Johnson who passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 03, 2024.”
In 1992, George Johnson became a live-in member of the Nottingham Fire Department Station 65 (NFD65) for the first time. This first year was significant for him. An injury occurred to him as he was taking part in a training session during the same year. Instead of returning to his old work as a firefighter, George became highly involved in the administrative side of things and served as a trustee. He never went back to his previous career.
In addition to being a devoted father to his son Georgie, who is married to Susan, and his daughter Sam, who is married to Edgar, George was married to his cherished wife Debi for a period of thirty-one years. Both of his children are married people. George’s devotion and care for his grandsons Matthew and Leo is also well-known. Matthew and Leo are his cherished grandchildren.
Friends and family are cordially invited to join a celebration of life for George, which will take place at the Tomlinson Funeral Home on Bristol Pike on Thursday, May 9, 2024, between the hours of 9 am and 11 am. The event will take place on Thursday. At eleven o’clock in the morning, a solemn memorial service will get underway. I pray that you, George, find eternal rest.
