Gary Nelson Death – Gary Nelson, the former president of Tyndale University has passed away leaving his family and loved ones. He was became President and Vice Chancellor of Tyndale University on July 1, 2010. Prior to that, he had spent ten years serving as General Secretary of Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM), which is the national and global working arm of Canadian Baptists. Before he started working with CBM, he was previously employed by a variety of congregations, where he held positions of both staff and seniority.
He ended his term in June 2020. the circumstances surrounding his passing were not released and a cause of death is also unknown. He was extraordinary as a president, guiding the university and seminary into its new campus, overseeing the university with his classic warm and competent leadership.

Dr. Nelson was married to Carla, who was the Director of the Bachelor of Education program at Tyndale University and an Associate Professor of Education there. Dr. Nelson was a member of the Tyndale University faculty. In addition to their four children, they have one daughter named Stacy who resides in Edmonton with her husband and their four children.
The University of British Columbia awarded Dr. Nelson a Bachelor of Education degree, and Fuller Theological Seminary awarded him a Master of Arts degree as well as a Doctor of Philosophy degree. Over the course of his career, he has delivered lectures and instructed classes at educational institutions in both the United States and Canada. Over the course of his career, he has delivered lectures in a variety of countries, including India, Bolivia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Scotland, Kenya, Ghana, and Rwanda. These lectures have covered a wide range of topics and themes, including urban missiology, modern ministry, and missional living, as well as leadership and governance responsibilities for Christian organizations.
Among his published works are books that he has co-authored, such as Future Faith Churches: Reconnecting with the Power of the Gospel for the 21st Century (published by Wood Lake Books in 1997), Borderland Churches: A Congregation’s Introduction to Missional Living (published by Chalice Press in 2008), and Going Global: A Congregation’s Introduction to Mission beyond Our Borders (published by Chalice Press in 2011).
